Yebba X Sony 360 Reality Audio

Director / Assistant Editor

Another collaboration between Sony, Heads Ain’t Ready and legendary drummer Steve Jordan. It was an incredible to spend so much time with Mr. Jordan - what a pro and so many stories. It was a reminder that a great team, a clear vision, and good vibes will make work feel like play.

Love Will Find A Way

Director / Editor / DP

Collaborating with Dave on this was just plain fun. We tried various angles and techniques and made things up in the moment. “Intimate” was a word that kept coming up. We were in his bedroom, close to his face and his fingers and the camera got to go places seldom seen.

Covid Cubes: J Hoard

Editor

You may be thinking - “Why did he include covid videos on his page?” Well, because sometimes limitations can push us creatively. Hence, “Come Sunday.”

Originally by Duke Ellington and performed and arranged here by J Hoard and this incredible band.

Yebba X Sony 360 Reality Audio

Director / Assistant Editor

This was a collaboration between Sony, Heads Ain’t Ready and Grammy Award winning artist, Yebba. It was filmed in the legendary recording studio, Electric Lady Studios in New York. What an utter thrill!

Love Movement

Director / Editor

This was a piece created for Head’s Ain’t Ready in collaboration with Michela Marino Lerman. We spent months talking, dreaming, and mapping out how we could portray tap in a multitude of ways. It was exhilarating to watch Michela work. She had just returned from China and was missing a big toe nail and still brought heat for every single take.

The Gotham Kings Promo

Director / Editor / DP

Alphonso Horne is one of my favorite people alive so when he asked if I would help him create a promo for his band The Gotham Kings, I was honored. Everything with this band is fun and theatrical so the fact that there is a ventriloquist should not be surprising to those in the know about Alphonso Horne.

Covid Cubes: Jazz at Lincoln Center

Editor

You may be thinking - “Why did he include covid videos on his page?” Well, because sometimes limitations can push us creatively. Hence, “Yongy’s Blues.”

This is a song written by a 9th grader and performed by some incredible musicians from Jazz at Lincoln Center. There was so much that went on in this arrangement which made it super fun to build and layer visuals.

Mwenso & The Shakes

Director / Editor

Mwenso & The Shakes are magnetic performers so this piece had to reflect that energy. A tall order and a really fun project!

Love Movement Promo

Editor

Years after creating a video for Michela, Love Movement blossomed into a band. This was a promotional piece representing the mission, depth, and development of Michela Marino Lerman. Showing her in different contexts was important - as a solo improviser, as another musical voice within the context of a jazz band, as a bandleader, a composer, and a mentor to younger hoofers.

Wali Sanga Remixes Promo

Director / Editor / DP

My brother from another mother - Alex Ariff, is not only an amazing radio producer, director, thinker, friend, but also a bandleader and musician. This video was a reminder of the importance of play, improvisation and experimentation, and that you can do a lot with a little if you just open up and have fun with a friend.

Covid Cubes: J Hoard

Editor

You may be thinking - “Why did he include covid videos on his page?” Well, because sometimes limitations can push us creatively. Hence, “Everyday People".

Another banger from J Hoard and his band. Another challenge and learning experience in taking iPhone footage and editing in a way to match the intensity of the musical performance.
